I am Married to my wife Pat and we have two lovely children, Jaden and Presley. I started my educational career as a first grader at Tharptown Junior High School in 1976. I transferred to Mt. Hope School the following year and graduated there in 1988. I received my Bachelor of Science in Education degree from the University of North Alabama in 1996 double majoring in Physical Education and History. I received my Master's Degree in Administration and Supervision from Tennessee State University in 2004.
I was a volunteer football coach at Mt. Hope High School for 3 years before moving to Tennessee for my first job in education. I taught History and Physical Education at Linden Middle School in Perry County, TN for seven years. I then served as the principal at the same school for two years. During that nine years, I also served as the head middle school football coach and assistant high school football coach, and the huddle coach for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
It was in 2006 that I was blessed with the opportunity to return home to Tharptown. I taught history, served as assistant football coach for two years, head football coach for one year, and also coached 7th and 8th grade boys basketball for two years. In 2009 I became principal at Tharptown Elementary School where I served as principal there for four years. In 2013 I became principal at Tharptown High School and I consider it an honor and a privilege to serve in this position.
Both of my children attend Tharptown, as well as, some of my other relatives and the children of many of my long time friends. Therefore, I have an investment in this school and want to see it and all of the students here excel. Rest assured, when I make a decision concerning this school, I will have the best interest of the students in mind. My door is always open and welcome any questions or concerns. Please feel free to contact me at anytime.
